"A cracking natural wine with all the dark fruits, black currant , cherry & spices you would expect from a big red with a lovely light tannic structure. There is also a nice amount of funk on the nose and palate.
This is a red that has been barrel aged for a year on neutral oak. Because of the stability of natural wines barrel ageing is usually a no go, but Noita have great control of oxygen in their process and have added very minimal sulphites.
NOITA are based in the tiny fishing village of Fiskars in Finland. The grapes are hand-harvested from organic vineyards in Burgenland Austria, where they are cold transported to Finland where the magic happens. Once the grapes arrive its all about minimal intervention, they're sorted, crushed, macerated, pressed and allowed to ferment spontaneously with their native yeasts. Zero or very low levels of sulphur, no fining or filtration results in beautiful natural wines."
