Meet The Maker: Tommie Sjef - Sunday 5th July - Ghost Whale Putney

Hailing from Den Helder, Holland, Tommie Sjef has become one of the most well known names in the European craft beer scene. After starting his blending career at a remarkably young age, Tommie has gradually outgrown the title of prodigy, today being recognized as one of the most exciting producers of barrel aged Wild Ales in the world.

All of his beers are an exercise in patience, masterfully blended after years spent barrel aging. We've been lucky enough to sample & stock beers from Tommie Sjef over the past half decade or so, and are always mesmerized by the quality one man is able to produce so consistently.

We're absolutely buzzing that Tommie himself will be in our Putney shop on Sunday July 5th, where he'll share his story firsthand and guide us through five of his latest releases. 

THE BEERS

'Sauvin' (UnTappd: 4.13): A 6.9% blend of Saison & longer aged Wild Ale dry hopped with Nelson Sauvin hops for over a year in a Bourgogne foeder.

'Spróng' (UnTappd: 4.11): A 7.4% blend of Wild Ales varying from 6 months to 4 years in barrel, with Sicilian sage. 

'Oranje' (UnTappd: 4.03): A 7% blend of older Wild Ales (aged 4 years in oak barrels) with younger rustic Saison, with added orange peel & rosemary.

'Druif (2025)' (UnTappd: 4.25): A 7.6% blend of Wild Ales macerated on 400 grams per liter of Hungarian red wine grapes for a year.

'Framboos (2025)' (UnTappd: 4.27): A 7.1% blend of Wild Ales with organic raspberries & red wine grapes.

There is a limited amount of beer and therefore limited tickets for this exclusive event. 

Each beer will be split evenly out of sharing sized bottles, ensuring everyone gets a healthy serving (about 125ml of each beer). 

This is not a bottle share event, we will be focused exclusively on the event beers so please avoid bringing any of your own beer from home.
