A Slice Of Snallygaster - Tuesday 21st October @ Ghost Whale Putney

Fresh off the back of a beer-fuelled pilgrimage across the American East Coast, I (Ray) have returned, as per usual, with two suitcases full to the brim with brews that I'm extremely excited to share with our loyal Ghost Whalers. This journey was headlined by Washington DC's Snallygaster beer festival, which proudly donned what is hands down the best brewery lineup we've seen at a festival. 

Therefore, in an (impossible) attempt to capture the impressive density of world class beer on offer at Snallygaster, I've hand selected beers from my favourite attending breweries to be cracked and shared around in our Putney shop on Tuesday October 21st. Despite the name, this evening will be all about the beer with no pizza being served, soz x

Now time for the eye-watering list...

THE BEERS

Marlowe Artisanal Ales - 'Dokkōdō: Fourteen' (UnTappd: 4.42): Donning some of, if not THE best hoppy beers I had all week, Marlowe's 'Dokkōdō' series has landed in London. This double dry hopped Double IPA features a super charge of el dorado and three different types of nelson sauvin. 

The Answer x Black Heath Meadery - 'Passionfruit Mango Beescake' (UnTappd: 4.48): Is it Mead? Is it a Smoothie Sour? Not much clarity was offered, but what I do know for sure is that The Answer make some of America's silliest drinks. This 'mead cheesecake smoothie' is jammed with a scary amount of fruit, crammed into some of the largest tins you're likely to find. Oh, and it's 8%.

Fidens - 'Walker Way' (UnTappd: 4.73): One lonely 4 pack of Fidens's only non-collab 6th anniversary beer sat in their fridges upon my arrival to their taproom, so I came to its rescue. This goliath Hazy Triple IPA is hopped with riwaka, riwaka cryo & riwaka hop kief. How's that for a rating as well...

Side Project - 'Framboise du Fermier (10 Year)' (UnTappd: 4.32): A whopping 3.5 lbs per gallon of raspberries went into this 8% mixed fermentation Saison, which spent time in local Missouri oak barrels. This was released as a part of Side Project's 10 year anniversary celebration.

The Veil - 'STARVE: Exhibit I' (UnTappd: 4.45): The Veil's annual 'STARVE' releases receive silly hype and silly ratings year on year. This 16% blended Imperial Stout was conditioned on Thai banana and Madagascan vanilla beans aged in a variety of bourbon barrels for 46 months. This was only available to purchase in person at their taproom on STARVE day this past August, but they've kindly made special exception to reserve us some bottles. 

The Veil - 'STARVE: Triple Barrel Exhibit F' (UnTappd: 4.52): What's that, a second 'STARVE'?? This time its a blended Imperial Stout conditioned on coconut and marcona almonds, also aged in multiple bourbon barrels for a combined total of 50 months, and clocks in at a monstrous voltage of 17.5%. This too was only available to purchase in person at their taproom on STARVE day this past August, but they've kindly made special exception to reserve us some bottles.

We only have a couple cans / bottles of each beer, therefore tickets for this exclusive event are very limited. 

Each beer will be split evenly, ensuring everyone gets a healthy serving of each beer. 

Only 1 ticket can be purchased per person.
